Before you install
Collect the connection details below from your site's communications administrator before running the eQuate setup. Capturing them up front avoids a half-configured install and a return trip after the host team is unavailable.
Clearpath MCP sites
- IP address of the host (or Host Gateway Server).
- IP port number — normally 23, or 992 for HGS.
Clearpath OS 2200 sites
- TCP/IP connection type — TP0 to an HLC, DCP as an IP router, or Host Gateway Server (HGS).
- IP address of the host, DCP, or HGS.
- IP port number — normally 102, or 3782 for HGS.
- CMS Process or Telcon XEU values (Telcon for DCA TS; CMS PROCESS — RSDCSU for DEMAND, TIPCSU for TIP — for HLC/Router).
- Application names (if TIPCSU) — from CMS APPLICATION statements.
- Station names (if TIP) — from PID statements.
Remove older versions
Uninstall older eQuate (eQuateDev or eQuateUser) from Add or Remove Programs before the new install. Configuration is preserved and optionally re-applied to the new install — you don't lose your routes, station names, or host addresses.
Install
- Insert the eQuate media (or run eQuateDev.exe / eQuateUser.exe from a download).
- Follow the on-screen dialogs.
- On first launch, configure the connection using the details collected above.
