eQuate Install Card

Pre-install checklist for eQuate — host connection details, station names, and application names you must collect before running setup.

Last updated January 1, 2008

Before you install

Collect the connection details below from your site's communications administrator before running the eQuate setup. Capturing them up front avoids a half-configured install and a return trip after the host team is unavailable.

Clearpath MCP sites

  • IP address of the host (or Host Gateway Server).
  • IP port number — normally 23, or 992 for HGS.

Clearpath OS 2200 sites

  • TCP/IP connection type — TP0 to an HLC, DCP as an IP router, or Host Gateway Server (HGS).
  • IP address of the host, DCP, or HGS.
  • IP port number — normally 102, or 3782 for HGS.
  • CMS Process or Telcon XEU values (Telcon for DCA TS; CMS PROCESS — RSDCSU for DEMAND, TIPCSU for TIP — for HLC/Router).
  • Application names (if TIPCSU) — from CMS APPLICATION statements.
  • Station names (if TIP) — from PID statements.

Remove older versions

Uninstall older eQuate (eQuateDev or eQuateUser) from Add or Remove Programs before the new install. Configuration is preserved and optionally re-applied to the new install — you don't lose your routes, station names, or host addresses.

Install

  1. Insert the eQuate media (or run eQuateDev.exe / eQuateUser.exe from a download).
  2. Follow the on-screen dialogs.
  3. On first launch, configure the connection using the details collected above.
