HGS UTS Configuration Administrator

Configure HGS UTS sessions, screen appearance, custom keyboards, printer setup, and macros for HGS Web Client and HGS-connected eXpress sessions.

Last updated December 29, 2008

What it configures

HGS UTS Configuration Administrator manages the UTS session settings served by HGS — terminal type, screen pages, color and font, custom keyboards, printer behavior, and editable macros — for HGS Web Client and any eXpress client that reaches the host through HGS.

Sessions

  • New / Delete Session — manage the list of named sessions
  • Move Up / Move Down — reorder sessions in the picker
  • View / Edit Selected Session — terminal type, encryption, SITA Open Id, SPSO config
  • Printer timeout — -1 for no timeout, 0 to time out immediately, or a positive number of seconds

Custom screen appearance

  • Screen Color Settings, Screen Font, Automatic Font Scaling
  • Default / Import / Export — share schemes across users
  • Edit Color Palette and Set to Default to reset
  • Use UTS60 Colors — render UTS60 sessions with host-defined colors

Custom keyboard layouts

Pick a key on the graphic keyboard, then either type the new key sequence or choose Set Key Assignment from the action list. Undefine, Default, Import, Export, and Print round out the editor. Conflicts (the same key sequence assigned twice) are surfaced before save.

  1. Select the key to be re-mapped from the list box
  2. Type the new key sequence (or pick from Key Actions)
  3. Resolve any conflicts the editor reports
  4. Save and confirm the activation key when prompted

Printer configuration

HGS UTS Printer Configuration governs how the host-driven print stream is rendered. Map host characters to print characters in the translation table, and use the LPO_Open hook (called whenever the emulator opens the printer) to inject site-specific setup.

Editing macros

  • Insert WAIT, ERASE DISPLAY, CURSOR TO HOME, and Timed Wait actions
  • Move steps up/down and Revert unsaved changes
  • Conditional checks: Equal (=), Not Equal (<>), with Wait Time (seconds)
  • Generate Web Parameter Text exports the configuration for HGS Web Client

WINSOCK errors at a glance

  • [10052] Net dropped connection or reset — TCP/IP stack or network issue
  • [10053] Software caused connection abort — call KMSYS Worldwide for assistance
  • [11003] Non-Recoverable Error_Handling: FORMERR/REFUSED/NOTIMP — call KMSYS Worldwide
  • [11004] Valid name, no data record of requested type — call KMSYS Worldwide
Note: When configuration settings are common to all users of the same machine, individual users should NOT be allowed to change settings.
