InfoQuest Installation

Install the InfoQuest PC client and Unisys 2200 host components, including TCP/IP connection prerequisites.

Last updated December 11, 2009

Before you install

Confirm the following with your site communications administrator:

  • TCP/IP connection type: TP0 to an HLC, DCP as an IP router, or Host Gateway Server (HGS)
  • IP address of the host, DCP, or HGS
  • CMS Process or Telcon XEU values for DCA TS and HLC/router (e.g. RSDCSU for DEMAND)

System requirements

  • Approximately 9 MB hard disk space for the PC client
  • A current supported version of Windows
  • Winsock-compliant TCP/IP stack

PC component setup

  1. Insert the InfoQuest setup media (or run the downloaded installer)
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions; accept the defaults whenever possible
  3. After install, launch InfoQuest and run the WinQ UTS Configuration utility to set the connection

Host component installation (Unisys 2200)

InfoQuest runs ad-hoc reports through Q-LINK on the host. Make sure Q-LINK and its supporting subschemas/views are installed and that the user-id used by InfoQuest has access to the Q-LINK transaction.

  1. Install Q-LINK on the host using the standard COMUS local install procedure
  2. Configure the Q-LINK TIP transaction (CMS Process or Telcon XEU) and grant access
  3. Verify connectivity from the PC with WinQ UTS Configuration before launching InfoQuest
Note: InfoQuest does not require knowledge of the underlying file structures, but the host-side Q-LINK installation must be completed by your DBA or site communications administrator.
