Component Configuration overview
Component Configuration is the central admin tool for UTS eXpress Enterprise. It controls available screens, user restriction settings, the visual keyboard layout, screen appearance schemes, the eXpress Connect connection model (Open Ids and Virtual Destinations), and miscellaneous error handling and technical-support information.
User restriction settings
- Configuration Lock — prevents end users from changing locked settings
- Enable / Disable specific features per restricted user
- Allow customized keyboard(s) — opt in to per-user keyboard editing
- Allow customized color scheme(s) — opt in to per-user appearance editing
Visual keyboard layout
Manage multiple keyboards via New, Rename, Delete, Default, Import, Export, and Print. The graphic keyboard offers Terminal Keys, Script Activation Keys, and Macro Activation Keys tabs. Map a key by typing the desired sequence or by selecting it from the action list, then Add an alternate sequence (for example, two Enter keys) or Redefine the existing one.
Screen appearance configuration
- Manage schemes (New, Rename, Delete, Default, Import, Export)
- Pick screen attributes and assign colors via Edit Color Palette
- Screen Font Settings — Font Name, intensity, size, character set
- Automatic Font Scaling and Always Use Low Intensity for UTS60 Background
Settings location
Settings can live per user (default) or in a common location used by every user on the machine. Switch via Change Settings Location; once moved to common, the per-user files are removed and emulator settings are read from the shared location.
eXpress Connect connections
- Open Ids and Virtual Destinations — Add, Edit, Duplicate from a single dialog
- Use as Default destination — last configured wins on $$OPEN
- Auto Session Establishment — connect automatically when opening the screen
- Station Name and Cursor Style — per-screen display behavior
- Beep Sound — toggle the audible message-wait beep
SSL and SPSO options
SSL is available on UTS eXpress Enterprise (not on UTS eXpress IT). Use SPSO Config and Manage SPSO… to set the Single-Point Sign-On authentication options required by your site.
Connect message strings
- Session Closed String / Enter Session String / Invalid Destination String
- Click Default to restore all values to factory defaults
