Overview
T27 eXpress Connect is the configuration utility that defines the network paths used by T27 eXpress Plus and the Print Service Manager. You create routes (logical T27 sessions) and virtual destinations (network endpoints), then link them with the mouse on the Visual Configuration window.
Visual Configuration window
- Two columns — routes on the left, virtual destinations on the right; each column has an Actions menu.
- Left click selects an item; double-click opens its editor; right click reveals a maintenance pop-up.
- Drag from the dark grey box on a route to a virtual destination to link them.
Buttons
- Save and Close, Save, Cancel — Cancel prompts when changes are unsaved.
- Print — prints the visual configuration using the standard Windows print dialog.
- Edit — Route Actions, Virtual Destination Actions, Sort All Lists, Settings Location.
- Help — Contents, This Window, About.
Settings Location
By default each Windows user has private configuration files under %APPDATA%\KMSystems\QPortT27_4.0\CONFIGURATION. For shared workstations or kiosks, switch to a common location under the All Users profile so one configuration serves every user. Both the T27 eXpress Plus emulator settings and the eXpress Connect transport settings can be shared independently. The Settings Location feature is only enabled when Use configuration lock options is checked, and end users should not be allowed to change settings while shared.
Edit Route
- Route Name — links the route to a virtual destination.
- Station Name — the COMS-configured name passed to the ClearPath MCP host.
- Select Virt. Destination — pick the linked endpoint.
- Gateway Server Generated Station Name — let HGS allocate the name; only visible for HGS destinations.
- HGS OpenId — the open ID configured on the Host Gateway Server (HGS destinations only).
- Terminal Type — TERMINAL or PRINTER.
- Rows (12–50; +1 for the status line; default 24) and Columns (60–132; default 80).
- Pages — number of T27 pages for the route.
Edit Virtual Destination
- Virtual Destination IDs — friendly name for the endpoint.
- IP Address and IP Port ID — typical T27 ports are 23 (clear) and 992 (SSL); HGS uses 3782.
- Connection Type — direct TCP/IP or KMSYS Host Gateway Server.
- HGS Security Settings — None, Authenticate, or Authenticate + Encrypted (HGS destinations only).
Naming and applying settings
When creating a new route or virtual destination, the New Route / Virtual Destination Name dialog asks for a unique name (OK / Cancel). The eXpress Connect T27 Settings dialog provides Delete Source Settings, Set, and Cancel — used when copying settings between configurations or when switching the source of T27 settings on an existing workstation.
